PCMCIA controller not detected

I've installed Mepis 3.4-3 on my three years old Packard Bell laptop but the PCMCIA controller is not detected on it and thus my wireless network card doesn't work. It works in Windows XP. Is there something that can be done?

Thanks,

Nils

What have done to configm it is not seen first?
/sbin/cardctl status
/sbin/cardctl ident
/sbin/cardctl info

Never run Mepis so not sure of kernel version it is using. Look into pcmcia-cs. This may need to be installed if using kernel 2.4. Not sure if it is needed in the 2.6 kernel group.
