Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Osborne MAG15DLS monitor info required

I have an old Osborne Computers 486DX which eventually I will get running on Linux. That's another story.

With this is a monitor which is marked as an Osborne MAG15DLS 15" monitor. Checking the FCC site for the FCC Id number (always a top search for hardware) reveals that it is a rebadged MAG Technologies (Taiwan firm) [now known as MAG Innovision] monitor model DX15F.

I am wondering if anyone else bought one of these excellent machines and still has the tech info on the monitor (and machine if poss) and could share it with me. I need the resolution modes and refresh rates to try and get a copy of damn small linux up and running on an IBM box.

Ta

Try this, http://www.manualy.sk/seminar/Papers...r/referat.html , it has some xconfig info that might be of use.
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "MAG DX15F"
VendorName "MAG"
ModelName "DX15F"
HorizSync 30-64
VertRefresh 50-100
EndSection

That info should be enough for you to get some basic 8bit 640x480 while try other 16bit and higher/wider specs. You may experience some 'flicker' on the screen because of the low bandwidth, that's normal. Wish I could be there with ya, getting that one up.
This second site link, http://bazaar.turbolinux.co.jp/cgi-b...h?annotate=1.1 , is quite a big d/l, so you don't need it, the relevent part you need is,
982: +MAG Innovision; MAG DX15F; 0; 30.0-64.0; 50.0-100.0
Which basically is all you really need to 'config' your xwindows (besides your video card settings).
