i just installed OpenSuse 11 and found that the mouse works only in Failsafe. When i login in normal mode, the mouse doesnt work for the same configuration.
I looked for a solution on the OpenSuse Forums but got no reply. Maybe someone here can help. Please help.

Perhaps if you provided some information. What kind of mouse? What desktop environments have you tried? Have you tried to go into the hardware configuration tool, and set up your mouse? Use your keyboard, and pull up yast2 as root, under hardware, select the mouse icon and hit return. You should be able to navigate using the keyboard, and test it.

The mouse is a really old Logitech PS/2 3-button (no mouse wheel)
Desktop is KDE 3.5
I've tried the following so far:
1) In Yast (done using simulation mode alt+F12.. with keyboard), I've tried and tested all the mice listed under PS/2. That didnt work.
2) In xorg.conf, i tried changing the input device from /dev/bin/mice to /dev/mouse. This didnt work either.
The mouse works perfectly in Failsafe mode with Mouse1 set to ImPS/2 and Mouse2 to ExplorerPS/2. But when i login in normal mode, the mouse doesnt work. Something might be blocking it?
