nVidia driver install

I've gotten various problems with the nVidia driver install and have been unable to find any really useful links or tutorials dealing with the install. So far I've gotten the driver to start running (I had to log on without the KDE on) and start running but I get stuck there.

Is there a step by step troubleshooting guide I can look through aside from the one on their site?

The Nvidia installation instructions are pretty detailed. Why don't you post a more specific description of what error messages you are getting and someone will probably be able to help you. I got the Nvidia driver working without any trouble.
