Not able to boot fedora 11

Hi all,
Currently I am using Fedora 11 But Today when I restart my machine ,
it is not able to come with a windows for Login screen.
I found the error message

/etc/x11/prefdm :Line 32 : /user/bin/plymouth ----- No such file or directory found

I want to recover my operating system or atleast data on this machine .
Please give your ideas for resolving this .

Thanks
Nk

If that's what the error really is, edit /etc/X11/prefdm and change that line so that user becomes usr

Please post the output of

`login` root

`tty`

`runlevel`

some useful commands would be `X` `startx` `xorg`

also try `help` `pico /etc/inittab` or `nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf` `cat /var/log/messages` `ed /tmp/xerrs.log` `dmesg`

The folders/dirs may differ .?.

I am running Foxy3.0/1 and at live mode you're able to `(p)mount` `mount /dev/h(s)d** /mnt/s(h)d**` `dd /path/to/file /mnt/USBSTICK/* `cp DIR/FILE TO STORE/` `gparted` and install new OperatingSystem -- perhaps 3xat once (conservative 3xfs${nr} partition + 1x600MB+ swap partition)

don`t forget [TAB]/2x[TAB] for gr --> grub
or `apropos X(f86)` , `info X` , `man X` , `help` at the runlevel 2/3 - prompt.

For Data-Recovering I would advice some PUPPY or former Macpup 4.3
puppy 5.*

also once you can login UPDATE to 13

do a clean install of fedora 13 ( unless you made the boot partition bigger than 800Meg on fedora 11 ## this was not in the documents for 11 so i do not think you did that .)

Prepugrade will be unavailable to you

so do a full clean install of 13( with a 900 mg to 1 gig boot partition ) . Then in 5 months use "preupgrade" to install fedora 14

Well, I'm running Fedora 14 alpha rc3.1, and line 33 of /etc/X11/prefdm is
Code:
/usr/bin/plymouth quit $quit_arg
One could also edit grub.conf and remove rhgb from the kernel line (and lose the graphical boot)
