non SLI 9800 GTX+'s

Can you actually run the 2 cards independently and have both of them out-putting video to multiple screens?

I ask this because for what I want to do there is no real reason to run both Cards in SLI ...I want multiple screens with Multiple workspaces (hence Ubuntu with literally 3 Cubes)

Ideal situation:
2 9800GTX+'s
NOT in SLI Mode
Both still work independently putting out video

No one at the NVIDIA forums could tell me so I bring it here lol.

know its kinda farfetched from my readings but I would still like to know if it is at least possible.

What motherboard are you using?
I assume you have two pci-e expansion slots on your board?
Maybe it would be worth e-mailing the motherboard manufacturer, and ask them direct.

Regards.

MSI Speedster and yes it does have two PCI-E slots.
I also have a ASUS M3N-HT with 3 PCI-E slots.
Mainly asking on the MSI board.
May have to just call them
