Cool NO sound - snd-ens1371 - slackware ???

I've done my part, I have read about thirty forums and wikis for this answer, yesterday, I installed Slackware 10.0 to rescue a virus ridden PC. Great, installed the adaptec scsi pnp kernal, and I seem to have nothing in the file:
/etc/rc.d/rc.modules

is this correct?

Otherwise, I ran xorgconf, alsaconf, and ensured that the modules are seen and uncommented to match my vendor's card. What's so tricky that slackware either isn't detecting it, or overwrote my rc.modules file..... HELP
