Are you using a hardware raid or trying to create a software? Some more info about what distro you're using might help as well.

I am using a hardware raid and trying to install it using preferably RedHat 9.0, but either Fedora or Centos will work as well.

After doing some research, it doesn't appear that they offer a Linux driver for the RAID controller. It's possible that someone has created a driver for it, but I don't want to get your hopes up. You could do a software raid and in my experience it isn't all the difficult. Depending on your distro, there may be an option to do this during the initial install.

Any ideas on where to start. I'm very new to Linux and don't know where to start with relation to setting up a software raid

As I mentioned, some distros may allow you setup a RAID array to install to, although I can't think of any off the top of my head. Assuming your distro of choice gives you this option, it should be fairly straight forward. You'd basically RAID /dev/sda and /dev/sdb to create /dev/md0. I've never done it pre-install, but using the "mdadm" command, you can create a RAID array as well.
