New harddrive?

I have Gentoo installed with two harddrives, the second harddrive is /usr

I think this harddrive is going to give up soon it is noisy. Can I copy /usr to my first harddrive and then put in the new harddrive and then copy /usr back to the new one?

You can, yes. Can I ask though, why do you have /usr on a completely different hard drive? I would honestly keep your main directories on your primary hard drive, and use your secondary hard drive for file storage.

I donīt know I think it was good because /usr are allways big with all the installed programs.

Do you think it is better that the second one is /home?

Well how big are your hard drives, and how many programs/applications do you have installed to /usr?
