So I am having problems with my network. I have a amd64 X2. I originally install slamd64 on the machine. It ran ok but since there are hardly any packages for x86_64 that I need I got tired of it. But at this time sound worked sometimes... gave me problems though. And the network worked fine.

I decided to take the loss and downgrade to regular slackware 10.2. Now my network is not working. ifconfig eth0 shows it there but just running ifconfig does not make it show up.

I tried debian but the 64 bit and regular did not like my machine. Any clues to what I may need to do. I tried the hints in sevral other messages but none seemed to work.

Have you tried this?
