N-way systems

Greetings,

I have seen many products described as:

4-way or 6-way machines.

Ex: pSeries 650 (IBM Unix server) 6-way Power4+ 1.45GHz processor.

What does "6-way" mean? The rest of this is understandable, but I'm not sure if the 6-way indicates 6-cpu's or what?

Also what would:

2 x 2-way 1.45GHz POWER4+ imply???

Thanks to all that can help.

regards,

zep

It means number of processors from the charts shown at IBM's site.

READ THE ABOVE VERY CAREFULLY.

2 X 2 way Pentium4+ 1.45GHz could be two computers with 2 processors in each.
