I have the nvidia drivers loaded but could not find a section to set up a 2nd monitor. A friend has a 6800 and dual displays working so I tried to setup mine with similiar setting.But when I start up X crasheds and says no screen error
Here is my Xorg.conf Can anybody see something I am missing.
I have 2 Fp monitors both 17 inch dell 1 a E176fp and the other a 1707. The 1707 connects to the 7800 via the Digital connection. The 176 is anolog that connects to a kvm. In my working xorg the 176 is the monitor that works. In the non working both do not. I would like the 1707 to be monitor 0 on the left and 176 mon 1 on the right.

Well, for one thing, it might be helpful if you used code tags for your xorg.conf (that way I might be able to tell you exact line numbers).
Let's see...
The third line of the ServerLayout section (of the non-working xorg.conf) seems to be missing a double-quote (not sure if this is a typo in the file or in the pasting onto the forum).
Now in your screen sections (in the non-working xorg.conf), you seem to reference "NVIDIA Corporation NVIDIA Default Card", yet you have only defined "Videocard0" and "Videocard1". Also, the definitions of "Videocard0" and "Videocard1" are the same (perhaps you need to differentiate them with BusID). My advice would be to use Videocard0 in Screen0 and Videocard1 in Screen1. If you are hand-editing this file, you might want to use a more human-readable naming scheme (such as "NVIDIA 7800gs DVI" and "NVIDIA 7800gs Analog" instead of "Videocard0" and "Videocard1" and similarly for the rest).
Also, there is no such thing as a section monitor0 or monitor1. There is a section monitor in which you may change the identifiers (which, BTW, also don't match your screen section references).
You want to use TwinView to set up your monitors. There is a specific way to set up your screen section- a great guide is here: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Dual_Monitors
The quick and dirty is that you want to have a MetaModes option that reads something like MetaModes="1280x1024 1280x1024" and that you have to list analog LCDs (anything that uses the blue-ended RGB cables) as CRT monitors.
