Multimedia keyboard help

okay...now i know this has been asked a lot, but coz i'm a real noob and have never done anything with binding keys, all of the other threads have been absolutely no help...

alright...well i'm running Fedora core 1 with a 2.4 kernel i believe
i just got a new keyboard, A4tech wireless multimedia keyboard and i've been trying all sorts of things to get the extra buttons to work. nothing has helped, i've installed a number of things, and tried to install other things...most of witch have failed due to misc reasons. not quite sure myself... but if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated
