mouse resolution and cursor speed
Hi there,
I recently changed my mouse on slackware 12.0 machine from very old ball mouse to Genius NetScroll 100 (optical, PS/2, 800dpi). The cursor speed is now too fast, in X and in console (gpm) also. My guess is that the difference comes from greater resolution of new mouse, but have no idea how to change it (xorg.conf "Resolution" option proven to bee ineffective).
Now, there's acceleration setting available in xfce, but set even on the lowest value, cursor's still too fast. Manually, using xset (e. g. $xset m 1/2 1) it's possible to get normal speed, but I think this aint right solution cause it uses "negative" acceleration to lower speed, it twists the idea behind acceleration. Speed should initially be lower, and acceleration should increase it.
