I have Linux Mint 13 KDE on a laptop and I'm trying to share the desktop with an external monitor.
I have to have the monitor to the left of the laptop, so the mouse needs to move from the monitor right onto the laptop.
Using this
Code:
#!/bin/sh
export DISPLAY=:0
export XAUTHORITY=/home/mjolnir/.Xauthority
xrandr --auto --output VGA-1 --mode 1024x768 --right-of LVDS-1
I'm able to get the desktop shared, but the screens are obviously in the wrong order, which means that I have to move the mouse in the opposite direction between screens (which is confusing).
When I try using the obvious
"--left-of LVDS-1" both screens go totally black on me.
Anyone know the issue here? Is this a bug or am I overlooking something basic?
I have a Dell Latitude E6500 with an nVidia video card ("NVIDIA Corporation G98M [Quadro NVS 160M] (rev a1)"), if any of that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance.
