Mouse Mapping Question
I have an Intellimouse with a scroll wheel, and forward and backward button. OK, right now I have this conifiguration in xorg.conf
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
Option "Emulate3Timeout" "70"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
Option "Buttons" "7"
EndSection
with the above configuration, the wheel mouse works just fine. But I have no response with the forward and back button (buttons 6 and 7).
Now, when I change the configuration to this...
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7" <----------- changed
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
Option "Emulate3Timeout" "70"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
Option "Buttons" "7"
EndSection
All the buttons work but the scroll wheel controls the forward and back in the browser, and the side buttons control the scrolling (so everything is reversed)
There is a way to fix this problem with the IMWHEEL program and using xmodmap but my question is this...How come when I use ZAxisMapping as 4 5, do the side buttons become "dead". Does the xorg cut off all buttons after the ZAxis? Thanks guys....
