Motherboard change

My question is simple. Right now, I have a PIII 550 Mhz processor and I am planning on installing Mandrake 10 in the next couple days but farther down the road, I am thinking about upgrading my computer to an Anthlon processor and I know that the kernel and the compilations for various hardware is going to be set according to the current configuration but if I change later on, am I gonna need to rerun setup or what??

Take Care,

No, everything should be the same.

You might have to tweak your setup to get your PCI cards to work correctly (if they will be different) and integrated peripherals might be a problem, but the CPU and motherboard change itself should not require you to do much in the way of reconfiguring.

however you might have to recompile the kernel if you have some fancy feacure enabled or if it goes bad
