I try to set up my modem and when i use the kppp to dial in even if i have setup the modem correctly the thing goes No Dialtone or No Carrier. i have my message file /var/log/messages.Plz help.

Sorry u were right i have a CIRRUS Logic serial modem.I fix ATDP and no is callinh using ATDT.but i get the no carrier message

Hardware? You haven't mentioned the modem you are using.

First of all is ur modem installed properly? check ur irq settings for the modem ... that might be causing the problem
