Modem Configuration with minicom

My "soft" modem can be configured with the command "minicom".
All the work to configure the modem is successfully done with this tool.( as indicated by the readme file of the source). But in the end, when i exit, it gave the error message "segmentation fault". And so my modem is not properly configured.
Can anybody solve this problem? Is there an other way to configure it ?

You should feed the initialization strings (those beginning with AT...) to the program you will be using for dial out, like kppp, pppd(+chat), wvdial because each time the modem powers on, it tends to "forget" its settings (there may be some exceptions, though).

Search LQ for the ways to dial out.
