Microdrive Boot Partition Check Problems!
I am using a VIA EPIA 5000 mainboard with an IDE2CFII adapter with a 2GB microdrive inserted. I am able to install RedHat Linux 9 successfully with complete partition control, etc. However, after installation, the boot fails during the "partition check".
Here is some of the errors after the Partition Check 4 sec pause:
hda:<4>hda:dma_timer_expiry: dma_status = 0x21
dma timeout
error occurred during 0x58 {DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest}
The Microdrive (i'm worried) may not be compatible under linux at all. At hitachi's website, they do not conclude compatibility under linux. Please prove me wrong. Why is anaconda able to fully access the drive but not my bootloader?! Should I just return the microdrive and adapter and go with a good ol' hard drive? Please let me know of any suggestions. Thanks.
