Many artifacts in unreal 2004 opengl+graphics card problem?

Hello, I installed unreal tournament on my linux box
Mandrake 10 official
1.8ghz p4
128mb ram
radeon 7500 graphics

For some reason, i get sooooo many artifacts, that it becomes unplayable when it is set to opengl rendering. its like, if you take a random pixle on the screen, and then streach it somewhere else, except repeat with alot of pixels. However, software rendering works, so i think it is a graphics card problem. Is it because i don't have the latest driver? How do i check/install?

Thanks
