LTSP - Workstation Problem !!!

I have just finished installing LTSP , but my workstation is a PCCHIPS M587 with a ARTX video card. Does anyone know the right Xfree module that I must use to have my WS working.

Thanks

Welcome to LQ.

It appears that the ArtX cards are manufactured by ATI, so you could try the ATI drivers first. If they don't work then post back.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, but I really don't know how to do it. I am quit new to the linux world, I have been taking lessons and at this point I am out of options. If possible I would like to ask for your help. I would like to know how to install and configure the ltsp_x336_svga, vga or any other package and I think ATI is one of them. If you could and have the time I appreciate.

thanks a lot.

Please post your lts.conf file. It should be in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc on your server if you've installed to the default directory. If not, type 'find / -name lts.conf' and it'll tell you.

While you're waiting for a reply, try altering your lts.conf file thusly:

Change the XSERVER = <something> to XSERVER=vga or XSERVER=svga.

Add the line X_MODE_0 = 640x480
Add the line X_COLOR_DEPTH = 8

More on the lts.conf file can be found here:

http://www.ltsp.org/documentation/lt....0.html#AEN903

The docs are in different languages as well. Spanish is there, but not Portuguese.

I ran into the same problem as you in setting up the Xserver. I was trying to use very wierd video cards. I finally stuck in a Cirrus Logic card and everything fixed itself.
