Linux Vs. nVidia
I've been running into some problems with trying to install Linux on my system, and I have a feeling it has something to do with the chipset.
SuSE 10.2 originally worked beautifully, but for the longest time, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't reading my 250 gig Serial ATA drive. Turns out it wasn't plugged in. No problem, plug it back in. . .
GRUB error 23.
This was about a half a year ago. Thus far, with every other linux install - Ubuntu 6.10, 7.04, SuSE 10.2, I keep getting the same thing - GRUB error 23, and LILO just doesn't work. Period.
Since SuSE worked without the Serial ATA drive plugged in, I'm venturing a guess that Linux just doesn't like my motherboard chipset, which happens to be an nVidia chipset on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe.
Long story short: If I wanna run Linux with any sort of normalcy, am I gonna need to upgrade my motherboard?
