Linux on dual processor Apple xserve G5?

I am going to administrate one dual processor G5 apple xserver machine (

I would like to install Linux on it. Is it possible? Do You know some distro already compiled for such machine?

What about performance? Can i get same performance as with Mac OS X Server, which is already installed there? Or better? ;-)

Thanks a lot for any help.
