Post LINUX on CF

I'd finished installing winME on solid state media.
I'll try Novell soon.

Eventually it just runs on MS-DOS compatibilty mode, tough it looks fine on my Asus P4C800.

I need to get linux run on IDE port, so it'll get its full speed.(120X CF media)

What I want to know;
Can I erase it back to MS-DOS state after I use it with LINUX and How do I do it?

Is there any risk on putting LINUX on CF media?
(since LINUX formatted conventional HDD cannot be used by Mikrosov software)

Has anyone succeded making the Kernell running smoothly on the solid-state media?

Regards,
Boby

After playing with linux u will have to format the drive to windows partition because Linux and windows use different partition types.

Theres no problem in using CF as a drive.

I have CF 128Mb connected through IDE adapter with Mikrotik OS (kinda linux).
It works over a year now
You need good CF because many read/write operations get ur CF closer to death

Thanks for the input. I'd tried Novell, it just need greater size media for the Sys volume.

Since mine is only 1GB at (120X). There should be no problem for the Kernell.

There's 8GB available. I'll get later, waiting for the cheaper price.

I aim for LINUX novell in the future.

Regards

SLAX is running

I'd made slax running dandy on CF.
Now I have Linux alive without any hardisk.

Slax runs faster than MS window on solid state media.

I made it runs under msDOS.

pretty Funky aint...
