Angry Linux N00b Needs Help With GKrellM

Hey Everyone, I'm new to the Linux world after changing over from Windoze. I'm trying to get CPU temp, fan voltage etc to show up on GKrellM. I'm running the 3.1-10 Redhat Version of the KDE and my Release is 2.4.20-8. My machine is i686 and i'm runnin a Pentiom 4 Processor. Like I said before I am a total n00b, and would really like some help in figureing out what I need to make the sensors work. Thank You..... - Joe..

You need lm_sensors installed and configured. Go to the homepage to download the file and read the documentation. If you run into problems, post again.

Try typing "apt-get lm_sensors" as su or root. It should download lm_sensors and install it for you. The command su is called switch user. It can switch you to root or to other users that you have added. It defaults to root. Type "man su" to learn more about su.

Below are some helpful sites to get you started in LINUX.

IMO, Mandrake is much easier for novice LINUX users than Redhat. Mandrake is a lot easier when picking programs to install than Redhat. When I tried Redhat I feel that it is holding my learning experience back too much.
