Linux Internet Help.


Hey everyone...well today just got linux installed on my pc thx to the help of a friend..now i have two hdd's both 80gbs and on with xp and other with redhat 8.0. now i need to get the net up and running but i can't right now b/c i don't use my ethernet card..i use a ethernet adapter...it's version is netgear ethernet adapter PA101. is there a way to install certain drivers it needs to find it or am i just out of luck?

From my findings on the net, I do believe that adapter is not supported as of yet.

I understand the PA101 is a USB adaptor. You could try to use the usbnet module, but I have not heard of any success with linux and this adaptor. It would be easiest to just use a standard pci ethernet adaptor. Here is a link to the HCL for Redhat. http://hardware.redhat.com/
PS, you can get RTL 8139 adaptors cheap ($5 or $6), and I have had good luck with them and many distros of linux.
