Line 6 Toneport UX2 not working

Hi LQ's,

I'm having trouble getting my Line 6 Toneport UX2 (just want to play back sound with it) to work in Debian Testing.
Code:
Uname: Linux lys 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP Fri Dec 10 15:35:08 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

lsusb (cutout): Bus 006 Device 002: ID 0e41:4142 Line6, Inc.

dmesg: [ 2188.008187] usb 6-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
[ 2188.191353] usb 6-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0e41, idProduct=4142
[ 2188.191362] usb 6-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[ 2188.191369] usb 6-2: Product: TonePort UX2
[ 2188.191373] usb 6-2: Manufacturer: Line 6
[ 2188.191621] usb 6-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

aplay - l:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC1200 Analog [ALC1200 Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC1200 Digital [ALC1200 Digital]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 3: NVIDIA HDMI [NVIDIA HDMI]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 6: Si3054 Modem [Si3054 Modem]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
According to dmesg it would seem it's working driver wise (?), but I don't get any output from it, and aplay -l only talks about the internal card.

In case there is a driver problem a driver can also be downloaded here:

But so far I have not been able to compile it. (In maybe 5 different instances so far I have attempted to compile something, and it has never worked)

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

For some reason I read that ubuntu or other common distro would see that on live cd boot. I have a ux2 and wanted to use it with the gearbox but never got it to work. I feel pretty sure I used live cd's and it worked though just for output.

Maybe someone else has the full details.
