laptop video vs. Mint-14 and Ubuntu 12.xx

My laptop reports the following:
Code:
prompt$ inxi -Gx

** Graphics: Card: Intel 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller bus-ID: 00:02.0
** X.Org: 1.10.4 drivers: intel (unloaded: vesa,fbdev) Resolution: 1366x768@60.0hz
** GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Sandybridge Mobile GLX Version: 2.1 Mesa 7.11 Direct Rendering: Yes
The 'System Info' utility says:
Code:
Intel® Sandybridge Mobile
Can anyone offer any recommendations about how to configure for optimal graphics behavior under Linux Mint-14 (Ubuntu 12.xx)?

When I ask Xorg, I get the following:
Code:
prompt$ xinput -list

⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4	[slave pointer (2)]

⎜ ↳ SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad id=13	[slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3	[master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=6	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus id=7	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Sleep Button id=8	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Integrated Camera id=9	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=12	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ ThinkPad Extra Buttons id=14	[slave keyboard (3)]
Can anyone offer any recommendations about how to configure for optimal X-windows, pointer, touch, stylus, rotate, desktop behavior under Linux Mint-14 (Ubuntu 12.xx)?

Thanks in advance,

Bump-ity bump bump...

This thread has been bold for some time without any replies.
I was told that new threads get a one time bump to "new" but staying
bold for several days seems to defeat the purpose.

Doesn't anyone know anything about Intel Integrated Graphics (Sandybridge)
vs. Xorg and Cinnamon?

Thanks in advance,
~~~ 0;-/ Dan
