KVM issues

I am using Fedora Core and I have an issue with my KVM switch.

The switch is PS2 and has a keyboard, mouse, and dosplay attached.

When I switch back to my linux box from my windows box then the mouse no longer works. the keyoard does work.

Has anyone encountered this issue, or knows of anything i could try.

Thanks

Before leaving the linux pc hit alt-ctrl-f1 then on return you can hit alt-ctrl-f7 to get back to the gui.

I assume the other pc you are switching to is a windows machine. Try changing the mouse driver on the windows machine to a generic ps/2 mouse.

If neither help then the only idea left is use seperate mice to each machine.

Thumbs up Fedore Core KVM Mouse problems

I saw messages all over the Internet with this problem and no good answers. I think I have found it.

I used a 2 button PS/2 mouse and configured each of the servers using the "setup" command at the command line for the PS/2 2 button Mouse and everything works fine.

On my KVM with my servers, I never needed that scroll wheel anyway or 3 buttons!

It could be that if you configured each of the servers correctly using the setup command for the mouse you are actually using instead of relying on autodetect, it may work with a newer mouse.

In the meantime, I am happily clicking away on my 4 servers with my old 2 button PS/2 mouse out of the junk box..
