Booted my PC this morning and was finding it exceedingly difficult to click on things.

The mouse pointer would randomly jump around the screen, sometimes near to it's original location, sometimes on the other side of the screen.

Rebooting the PC didn't help. However, disconnecting the mouse stopped it hopping around. So I seem to have limited the problem to the USB mouse itself. (I'm now having to use a dodgy graphics tablet to move.)

The mouse is a Genius Netscroll EYE/U+P

This hasn't happened before, so I'm slightly confused as to what's causing it.
Any help would be appreciated.

SOLVED: Removing and reinserting the mouse seems to have stopped the problem.
I still don't know *why* it was doing this.
