joystick

I have a stick I used on Windoze some years back and when i"lsusb" it shows up there. It is a Saitek PLC Cyborg Graphite Stick and when i google it looking for a driver all I get are windrivers. I have MS now, so bad that I'll never be allowed to fly again except on the sims programs. While Ubuntu 10.04 sees the stick and responds to some level it has a lag of about three seconds and then over responds so that it is useless. Does anyone know of a driver and can anyone tell me of a good stick that is good for linux systems that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'm also a disabled vet living, exclusively on my VA Check, I ain't getting rich, lol!

for a very simple joystick the "Microsoft Sidewinder " is actually a good one and i have not had any issues with it
It is auto detected in fedora,Arch,CentOS,and SUSE , the OS's that I use.
-- no "driver" needed --
but is is just your standard basic stick.
