Is the HP Scanjet 2400c still not supported?

Hello,
Please can anyone tell me the current position regarding support for the HP Scanjet 2400c scanner,as there has been no comments in SANE Devel since September, when it was confirmed that support is continuing to be compiled.

I have enabled mine by uncommenting the HP Scanjet line in my "genesys.conf" file.
Xsane (ver.0.995) recognizes the scanner, and accepts data when clicking "scan", but the scanner carriage doesn't move. I just get a blank image.

The above page for HPLIP supported devices implies that it is not supported by HP drivers. When you select Type=scanjet then the specific models show no models.

I originally tried using that page with the Firefox No Script addon turned on. When I turned it off the HP web page put up a message indicating that they do not support the scanner but the sane project might.

So I went to the sane project and looked it up. It is definitely not supported by them.
