IP camera

Hi all I am looking at outdoor IPcams. I am looking at these at the minuet

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Waterproof-Wir...item27b372c3c2

and

http://bestofferbuy.com/IP-Wired-300...campaign=gbase

one question I have is will I be able to set up one of my linux machines to record the feed off this camera? I have no windows PC so I cant use the software that comes with it

I know i will be able to view the feed from the camera through Firefox but recording streams is something I don't really know about

Yes.
An IP cam is an IP cam. It's just another network-thingy. Linux is good with all things networked.

...But be aware that if you are going to use the camera outside, at night, then moths will be attracted to the IR LEDs. So spiders turn up and weave webs all over your camera, motion sees the spiders and moths, and you'll end up recording a lot of wildlife

The solution is to disable the built-in LEDs and have another source of IR illumination that is not close to the camera.
