Internal Tape Drives. Recommendation Wanted

We have a single Linux server running RedHat 9

uname returns:
2.4.20-8

We wish to back it up to tape. All we want to do is install an internal IDE tape drive (approx 40GB uncompressed) and be able to tar to it and use the mt utility. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tape drive that will do this? Do we have to get a SCSI controller and use a SCSI drive for Redhat support?

Can`t say about IDE drives but if you want to go for a SCSI one then i think HP`s DDS4 drive will be a good choice .,,
