hello

I recently installed suse 10.
I found it to be cool in terms of user interface.

but the only problem is i dont have
a good graphics card.
the same screen savers which had very good fps in
redhat 9 has less fps here.
Is this a known opengl/driver problem?

I have intel 82845G/gl/ge/pe/gv graphics controller
according to device manager in windows
suse detects it as i845 according to yast
Do both mean the same?

also if i try to enable 3d acceleration will it cause any
problems like not booting at all?
i tried to test this option in yast. It went to the
to test screen i could not adjust the window size
I canceled the test and did not save
the screen went blank and i had to shutdown and reboot

I am having the exact same problem, no one seems to know any possible solutions. I am going to try one more thing before I go completely insane, first make sure your monitor has been recognized.

Go to YaST and click Graphics cards and monitors and look if your monitor model is there. If it isn't, then it might be a monitor issue, because when I change the resolution manually, the refresh rate does not match, so the monitor goes black.

I enabled 3d acceleration.
I could play some games in it at an decent fps.
Now some screen savers look fine.
But i dont think my hardware supports the
rest of screen saver.
