I have a 64bit CPU but I run linux-86.. How to switch to linux-86_64?

Hello,
my CPU is an Atlhon 64bit 3000+ and my chipset is an nForce4, I'm running mandrivia 2005. Since audio doesn't work, I tryed to install the nVida driver for the nForce chipset. I downloaded the 64bit version but when I try to install it it tells me:

Code:
ERROR: this .run file is intended for the
Linux-x86_64 platform, but you appear to be
running on Linux-x86. Aborting installation.
So I wonder how could I switch to Linux-x86_64 bit...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Simone

You'll have to install a 64 bit distro. I'm running mandriva 2006 64 bit... Quite nice... But I run 32 bit firefox for plugin reasons...

In your case it would probably be easier to install the 32 bit nvidia driver...

I think you will need to reinstall with a 64-bit version of your distro.

It will be easier to download the 32bit version drivers or try other things to get the sound working.
Is the device not being detected? If it is, then try running "alsaconf", and making sure you are a member of the "audio" group.
