I finally did it!!!!!

Hello all, This is my first post here at linuxquestions.org and WOW I am so excited I could cry. After more than 2 years of sporadic attempts I have FINALLY gotten 3d acceleration to work in linux on my radeon 9800pro 256

How did I doit?

Fresh install of Fedora Core 4
Updated it with yum
Installed livna's ati drivers....that was it....no backflips...no handstands...no kernel recompiles...nothing....thats it.

Just a few more issues to track down (anyone know how the DAoC catacombs client runs w/cedega) and I will FINALLY be able to kick M$ off my machine forever.

Well done!

These days it is easy to install the drivers for 3d acceleration.

I have just done it to my Ubuntu machine a few weeks ago.
