Hi all,


I am in, the process, of learning Linux, in a transition from Macintosh..I always hated M$ and have just wiped out, every OS that every came installed, on them with one version of MAC OS or another...


I am using a inspiron 5150 & WG511 wifi card..I've been using Knoppix since 3.3 Live, Redhat since 7, and Mandrake since 9.1, although I have never been able to understand the commandlines to upgrade a kernel, or add, programs to an install, thus relying on whatever was on them..


I've read a few howto's on the no problems install of the WG511 with Prizm2 drivers, but...

on knoppix 3.6 the green light comes on, during boot then goes off..Has never worked for Man10.1 or Fedora core 3...I just used the integrated Broadcom 10/100 on eth0 (I think) to connect..


I would really like to get this running, if anyone thinks I should just get a different WiFi card, for this 5150 INSP I will, but if anyone can explain the iinstall, like I was a 6 year old, please do...I really want to learn linux, but I guess I need to have MAC OS's outta' my system, so I can start from scratch...Using & knowing Linux are two different worlds...


BTW..does anyone know of any Newb links that would help me, learn how to use commands, load Nvidia drivers, and any tricks, or tips, that I could print up & keep with me..my problem is I travel alot for my Job, & the company I worked for for 20 years, always had apple laptops...\
