HPT37X RAID-0 vfat to be mounted under Gentoo
I'm having difficulties mounting my raid array (disks hde and hdg) with my onboard HPT372 IDE raid controller under kernel 2.6 with gentoo.
I can create the 366 device as a module, and it loads fine (in boot log), but I don't know how to access it, or use it to mount the filesystem.
Created /dev/ataraid directory with d0, d0p1, d0p2, and d0p3 directories (only one or two partitions on vfat drives).
I cannot re-partition the drives, as per most online suggestions, since it contains my Windows parition with important linux files from a previous install (SuSE 8.1, in which I had no problems with RAID, worked by default).
I can't seem to locate the HPT370 software raid driver in make menuconfig. Is this option missing from kernel 2.6?
Even if I get the correct driver installed, how do I use it to mount the filesystems, or is there a shortcut by using software RAID to access the drives?
Thank you for your help in advance.
