Please is there anybody out there who can help me get the ataraid device going so that i can run xp and redhat7.3 on my raid 0 array . i have followed the instructions from http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/pdcr...raidhowto.html
and the bit where it says to run make for ataraid.tar.gz doesnt work complains about some missing files msr.h acpi.h and a few others
1) i ran the MAKEDEV shellscript =success
2) yeh the kernel source has been installed
3) make fails
4) so i cant install the modules and have support please help

Er...

Okay, I don't fiddle with RAID much, but those instructions are for the 2.4.6 kernel, and support for the HPT370 is in the kernel now, has been for a while, and is in 2.4.18 which you're running. If you've got /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/ide/ataraid.o.gz you don't need to patch up to build a new one.

I'm currently running the machine I'm typing on off of that controller, works great, apparently has a flaky BIOS for hardware RAID though, might want to check Highpoint for an upgrade. (I'm just using it as an ATA100 controller, not enough cash for more disk).
