hpsc1310 scanner

In my lan i have a hppsc1310 all in one printer-scanner.The printer is shared over the network and it's working great .
I installed sane and xsane to do the same for the scanner device but apparently it's not possible to share the scanner as well . xsane looks for a parallel or usb attached device which is not there . How can i share the same scanner for all hosts over the network as a printer does ?
Thanks !
