HP LaserJet 5MP Network Printing
Hi All, I hope I am posting this in the right place, I tried posting @ linuxprinting.org forums but got no replies. I am having a problem at work. I can get my laserjet 5mp at work to print perfectly from linux if I connect it directly through with the parallel port, or with USB, but when I attempt to print to it over its built in ethernet interface, all I get is garbled text. My machine is dual boot UbuntuDapper/Windows XP. It works fine from the ethernet interface if I print from XP, but when I am in Linux, it will not work properly. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. BTW, same problem om our Kyocera FS-C8008N printer. Perfect printing from parallel/usb from both win and linux, but nothing but garbled text when printing to it over ethernet from linux. The HP 5MP is supported by cups/foomatic, and gimp-print also i think, and I have a proprietary driver for linux for the kyocera printer, which works great over parallel/usb.
Thanks for any help,
Jeff
