How to compile D-Link DFE530TX network card driver in RH Linux 7.3

I'm running Red Hat 7.3. I'm a newbie to Linux. Recently, I bought a D-Link DFE530TX network card. Do anyone know how to compile the driver come together with this card. Pls explain to me the steps starting from installing the kernel-source RPM to compiling the driver & lastly installing the driver as a module. I have tried to compile this driver but unsuccessful with a lot of errors appeared. Thanx!

Is it true?

DFE-530 via-rhine (original board, no Wake-on-LAN, no problems)
DFE-530+ rtl8139 (a 8139B w/ Wake-on-LAN)

Kinda an old thread that never got answers, but...

if you do an
Code:
lspci
and get something like this:
00:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
(Most important is the RTL-8139...stuff)

then you have
DFE-530+ rtl8139 (a 8139B w/ Wake-on-LAN) (according to achaoge). Driver to load is: 8139too

to do that:
Code:
modprobe 8139too
if that doesn't work, try this:

Code:
modprobe 8139cp
modprobe 8139too
or other variations of something like that (including not modprobing one of them). Keep in mind this will probably have to be done as root.

As for the other type of card, the driver to insert should be via-rhine

**perhaps your kernel does not have these drivers**
