How can I make a device driver diskette? [ATA-RAID]
I have an old and not-anymore-support ATA RAID card. But, the card manufacturer opened the source code. So in my linux - RH3AS - , compiled and made driver file - ultima133.o
I am planning to reinstall my linux on RAID 0 using that RAID controller.
But......
I don't know how to make driver diskette.
It seems that I should make modules.cgz using ultima133.o.....
Following is the procedure that I've done.
making a kernel version name directory..
copy the file into that directory
find . |cpio -ov > modules.cpio
gzip modules.cpio
mv modules.cpio.gz modules.cgz
and then copy files including modules.cgz to a floppy diskette.
H'm..didn't work......
When installer loads the driver in the diskette, it displays the error - cpio format blur..blur..
I think that I use wrong method making modules.cgz.
Does anyone who help me making working and charming(?) diskette?
Thank you very much.
