How can I get resolution of 1152x864 in Ubuntu 6.10?

Hi, all,

I've noted there isn't an option to select screen resolution of 1152x864 in Ubuntu, but there is in Windows.

Why not in Ubuntu too? Can I select it in a different way?

If your monitor supports that resolution it is likely you will have to edit your xorg.conf file. This can be found in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Should look as follows:

This should give you the option to select that resolution. Of course you would have to restart after you edit this file and you will have to have root privileges to edit. Also make sure you back up your original in case you have problems and you may also want to make sure your refresh rates are listed correctly in this file also. Hope this helps.
