Question Holux Sirf star III


How do i get tthis to work on my usb port on linux do i have to mount it?I try to get this to work wit gpsdrive and gpsd.

It reads "Compatible with XP/Windows 2000, Linux and Mac.", so wheren't there any instructions? Checked the manufacturers site? What does syslog say when you plugged in the device?

So it got recognised. That Vendor ID / Product ID "0x067b:0x2303" combo is listed here: http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=4150. The Ubuntu forum thread they point to says software like (x)Gpsd works at a certain version but GPSdrive doesn't (not that my french is any good). Looking at Gpsd's compatibility list http://gpsd.berlios.de/hardware.html your BU-303 is listed. Please add this device to the LQ HCL at http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/. Thanks.

So what's your real problem?

Spose you didn't read any docs? Is Gpsd running? If it is and it recognised the device Kismet should "just work". And please don't tack your questions onto other people's threads. It's rude and inefficient.
