Hibernate

Do all distro have a hiberate mode or just a few? If so, how do I get to it. Just tapping the power button for a sec isn't working.

I find myself hitting Windows when LILO comes up, more often. Mainly because of the time to boot up. I usually just have a sec or two to check something or respond to an email and Slackware 12.0 takes forever to boot up. So I'm hoping there is a hibernate equivalant (sp?)

Thanks
Ace
