help with cdrom (again)

Quick question that hopefully you guru's can help me with. I was recently having a problem with my cdrw that I couldn't mount the cdrom when the cdrw was connected. I thought it was a hardware malfunction and took it out got a new scsi cdrw and a controller card. I had a fresh install of SuSE 8.1 and then when the cdrw and scsi card were put in I can no longer mount my cdrom. I know the cdrom works casue when I went to install more SuSE software it asked for the cd and when inserted it will install the software. I have done this as root as well as a user. I have uninstaled the scsi card and cdrw but now I am still unable to mount the cdrom but I knwo it can be read from when I reboot with bootable cdrom it trys to load the software. I can read from it in windows. was workign fine until I added the cdrw.

Thanx
