Help w/ RocketRaid 1820, will pay$

My linux knowledge is limited: have successfully hacked the crap out of my tivos, and managed to install lots of open source onto my linux web hosting co, but...

I'm trying to install a new Raid box, running RH9 and a RocketRaid 1820.

It isn't working, and I've reached a point where I just don't understand what to try next.

I'd be happy to explain in more detail here, but I'd be equally happy to:
1. pay someone (who knows this process) for some handholding (pm me and name your price)
2. open source the answer -- if I solve this offline with someone's help, I will make sure to post the whole solution here.

Thanks,

TC

[edit] p.s., I don't mean to be crass by offering to pay -- I realize that is a little out of the "norms" for this site. I make that offer because I'm only home on weekends and need some fairly concentrated assistance to get this done, without losing momentum on either end. Thanks

thanks and an open solution

Special thanks to Scott B. and Elise, for lending a hand -- at NO CHARGE! YOU GUYS RULE!

So, the answer, as they pointed out, is in the docs that accompany the latest version of the driver.

Go to highpoint-tech.com, download that file, unzip it, and inside, you'll find 3 .img files and instructions. Use rawrite to create a driver floppy for your particular processor.

REMOVE ALL YOUR HARD DRIVES EXCEPT those connected to the controller!!!

Then do a clean install of linux rh9 on your (now) bootable RAID array.

Worked like a champ for me after that -- no special config'ing.

AGAIN READ THE DOCS that come with that DRIVER FILE.

Again, thanks to all and peace out
